About a year ago I wrote a blog about Breweries around the Lakes Region in NH. Since then, there have been a few updates with a couple of new openings. I know how much you all love craft beer, so I thought I would bring everyone up to date on what is “on tap”.
The first new addition is Twin Barns Brewing North Taproom located in North Woodstock, NH. The North Taproom carries all of the great beers that the Meredith location does. From Sandbar Blonde, a clear, golden ale with a crisp finish to their signature Lake Lake Cruiser, a NE-Style DIPA, hazy with a smooth finish. There are about nine beers on tap, so there is plenty to choose from. The North Taproom has a cozy pub feel. Have a seat at the bar or settle into one of the comfy chairs at the window. Luke and the rest of the staff will take good care of you and can answer any questions you have about the beers.

The newest brewery in the region is Pour Decisions Brewing Co. located in Tilton, NH. Although Pour Decisions has only been open for a short while, they are already making its mark in the area. They have about five of their own beers on tap and are brewing a few more surprises coming out soon. All of their brews are named for “poor decisions”. Some are obvious and some, well, you will have to ask the owner Ron about those. I especially like “Kick the Bees Nest” which is a honey brown ale. It is smooth, and light with no bitterness. Another favorite of mine is “Tramp Stamp”, which is a NIPA. It is hazy and bright, with a crisp finish. It’s like drinking a glass of orange juice with a kick. It goes down very smoothly. Jordan at the bar is a wealth of knowledge regarding beer and he can help you choose the right tap.
Pour Decisions also offers some great food. Their TAQUERÍA menu offers some amazing Tacos and dips from a traditional taco to a Taco Cubano (a Cuban sandwich made into a Taco) to Bean and Sweet Potato Taco. You can even order a flight of Tacos which goes excellent with a flight of beers. The chef is always trying out new items on the menu. Pour Decisions is definitely going to be added to my go-to places. Also check out the nightly entertainment, from music to trivia and karaoke.
